DualTeddyCap Mk2 – Replaces two HiCaps and Napsc

$950$1,270

The DualTeddyCap is equivalent to two TeddyCap and in addition it includes a napsc compatible output. Each part of the DualTeddyCap has an independent transformer secondary and can be used independently.

The DualTeddyCap is the ideal partner for the NAC82/NAC282 preamplifiers, substituting three power supplies (two Hicaps and a Napsc) and furthermore, providing superior sound quality.

New design

The TDualTeddyCap Mk2 is a completely new design, based on the lessons learned from our highly succesful MiniTeddy Special Edition .
Some design highlights:

  • Hi capacity filter bank: using Kemet/Aerovox capacitors with 30,000uF total capacitance.
  • Active filter stage, with extremely high noise rejection.
  • New “Tedinator” – fully discrete voltage regulator.
  • New grounding scheme, with low impedance “Star Ground” structure.

The result is an ultra low noise (noise is much lower than 1uV) and ultra low output impedance – ideally suited for the requirements of Naim’s preamp section.

Tedinator fully discrete regulator

New Sound

The DualTeddyCap Mk2 improves upon its predecessor on many aspects, including:

  • higher resolution.
  • Better dynamics and more defined timing.
  • Deep extended bass.
  • Sharp focus and wide soundstage.

Alternatively it can be used to power up to 3 Naim equipment items simultaneously.

My core of my system is Naim NAC82/NAP250CB + Teddy Pardo Dualcap + KEF Q900’s. I wanted to replace the Dualcap with their new version .. and what a beautiful beast it is! Far larger than the previous model and now sporting a green power light on the front, discreetly placed on the bottom (a nice touch, as it blends in nicely with my Naim amps).

I didn’t really know if there’d be a small up-tick in performance compared to the original, but after one-week burning-in time .. I can honestly say it was worth it.

I’m finding that the slight hiss (which the Naim always produced since day #1 in my setup) has been greatly reduced as to be inconsequential. ‘Inky Blackness’ is how I’d describe it now (and not just in the quiet space where no music is playing).

There’s also a better sense of dynamics and the music .. whatever I play .. has better definition .. ‘locked into place’ as my wife so rightly pointed out. Am I pleased? You betcha! I wholeheartedly recommend Teddy Pardo’s new Dualcap.

A game changer for me. (Ken W, UK)

Configuration examples:

  • NAC102/202 + CD5 (powering both the the HiCap and Napsc parts of the preamplifier)
  • NAC102/202 + Stageline
  • SuperNait + CD5X

And many other combinations…

Interconnects

The TeddyCap is equipped with three interconnect cables:

– Two high quality 5-pin cables replacing the Naim black SNAIC-5 cable. These cables are made of silver plated PTFE insulated wires. The cable capacitance is around 13pF/ft, and its resistance is also very low, around 10 milliohm/ft.

– A third cable is supplied for connecting the napsc output.

For explanation about the TeddyCap connectivity scheme, please refer to this article.

I have a NAC-282, which power supply should I choose?

The NAC-282 runs very well with the DualTeddyCap Mk2, however we highly receomend on using it with a pair of TeddyCap SE Mk2 – the pair does everything the DualTeddyCap does – just much better!
